  • Fleet data: truck and trailer details, VINs, plate numbers, odometer readings
  • Driver information: names, phone numbers, CDL details, compliance records, dates of birth
  • Operational data: load records, routes, rates, broker information
  • Financial data: revenue, fuel costs, maintenance expenses
  • Documents: uploaded files including BOLs, rate confirmations, inspection reports, and compliance documents
  • Billing information: processed and stored securely by Stripe — we do not store your full payment card details

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages
  • Device information: device type, operating system
  • Usage data: features used, actions taken within the Service
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session and improve performance

  • Business transfers: If TruckinBuddy is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With your consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your account, we will retain your data for up to 30 days to allow for account recovery, after which it will be deleted or anonymized. We may retain certain information longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure authentication via Supabase, and access controls that limit who can view your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

7. Driver and Employee Data

If you use TruckinBuddy to store information about your drivers and employees, you are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to collect and store that information, and that your drivers have been informed their data is being managed in a third-party platform. You act as the data controller for your drivers' personal information, and we act as the data processor on your behalf.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@truckinbuddy.com.
  • Portability: You may export your fleet data at any time through the Service.
  • Opt-out of marketing: You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Transactional and account-related emails cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

9. Cookies
