Getting Started

How do I add my first truck?
Go to Trucks in the sidebar and tap the Add Truck button. Fill in your truck number, year, make, model, VIN, and plate details. You can also set the current odometer reading and assign a status.
How do I add drivers and assign them to trucks?
Go to Drivers and tap Add Driver to create a driver profile with their CDL, medical card, and contact info. To assign a driver to a load, go to Loads and select the driver and truck when creating or editing a load.
How does load tracking work?
TruckinBuddy is not a load board — it's a load tracker. You manually enter your loads with pickup and delivery details, rates, and assigned truck and driver. You can then update the status as the load moves from Booked to Delivered.
Can I use TruckinBuddy on my phone?
Yes — TruckinBuddy is fully mobile-friendly. Open truckinbuddy.com in your phone's browser to access your full dashboard on the go. No app download required.

Features

How does IFTA fuel tracking work?
Go to IFTA / Fuel and add fuel entries for each time you fill up, logging the state, gallons, and cost. For each trip, create a Trip Pack with your start/end odometer and miles driven per state. At the end of each quarter, the Quarterly Summary tab generates your IFTA summary automatically.
How do compliance alerts work?
TruckinBuddy tracks expiration dates for CDLs, medical cards, and license plates. The Compliance page shows a dashboard of upcoming and overdue expirations with color-coded alerts. Pro and Fleet plans will receive automatic email notifications before anything lapses.
How does maintenance tracking work?
Go to Maintenance and log service records for each truck including service type, date, mileage, cost, and notes. You can set a next service date or mileage interval and TruckinBuddy will flag overdue items automatically.
Can my drivers log fuel stops from their phone?
Driver fuel logging from a shareable link is coming soon on the Pro plan. For now, fuel entries can be added by the fleet manager from any device.

Billing & Plans

What's the difference between the plans?
Starter is free and includes up to 2 trucks, 2 trailers, and 2 drivers with core load tracking and compliance. Pro ($49/mo) adds up to 10 trucks/trailers/drivers, IFTA tracking, full P&L reports, and document storage. Fleet ($99/mo) includes unlimited everything plus compliance email alerts and priority support.
What happens when I hit my plan limit?
When you reach your truck, trailer, or driver limit on the Starter plan, you'll see an upgrade prompt. You won't lose any existing data — you just won't be able to add more until you upgrade.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to Settings → Billing in your dashboard. Click Upgrade on the plan you want. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page to enter your payment details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Billing and click Manage Subscription. This opens the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel at any time. You'll keep access to your paid plan until the end of your current billing period, then revert to Starter.
Is billing really free during beta?
Yes — all paid plans are free during the beta period. You can sign up for Pro or Fleet now at no charge. We'll give you at least 30 days notice before billing activates, and you can cancel at any time.

Account

How do I reset my password?
On the login page, click Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
How do I update my company information?
Go to Settings → Company Profile in your dashboard to update your company name, DOT number, address, and other details.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@truckinbuddy.com with your request. We'll process it within 5 business days.
